Job Description

A fabulous new opportunity has arisen for my client a ladieswear supplier to several high street retailers. My client specialises in Soft Separates Tailoring and Outerwear with strong offshore sourcing offices in Bangladesh. In this role you will be part of a dynamic professional team interfacing between clients and the sourcing office to ensure smooth management of the critical path. A strong wholesale merchandising background is required & understanding of working with Bangladesh Factories .Knowledge of working with Tesco is highly advantageous but not essential

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Being the main point of contact with customers on stock flow, factory capacities & orders
  • Daily communication with sourcing offices, mills & factories to gather relevant information and ensure all points are then actioned and executed directly
  • Ensure critical paths are adhered to & communicated to customers in an emotionally intelligent way
  • Ensure account managers/designers correctly fulfil and are not over promising and underdeliver on the commitments we make to our customers
  • Advising the Account Managers for booking deadlines based on customer sign off dates
  • Ensuring customers are informed in a timely manner of all updates and meeting when needed
  • Weekly reporting and interface with accounts department on new order position
  • Setting the critical paths for all the customer orders and ensuring these are kept.
  • Chasing up samples and lab dips & create cost sheets
  • Monitor weekly shipments from factories



Person Specifications:

  • Experience working for a supplier within the merchandising team
  • Highly organised, proactive, and numerate with excellent IT and Excel skills
  • Have knowledge and experience of working with factories in Far East particularly Bangladesh
  • A people person confident dealing with Buyers, Heads of Department internal and external
  • Able to lead, influence and problem solve
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage the critical path
  • Used to working in a fast-paced environment
