Job Description

We are working with a successful fashion business who are growing and looking for a Junior Designer to join their team.
You will provide vision and design for the product category, to support the Designer/ Senior Designer in developing, designing original innovative ranges in line with brand handwriting and overall brand strategy for the season.

Based in Liverpool, this role is open to Junior Designers across womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, footwear or accessories.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the branded customer to ensure all designs and ranges meet their needs and are fit for function.
  • Work closely with the product development team to ensure each range is commercially viable, actively supporting the team in resolving any issues with margin or quality.
  • Actively participate in market and competitor research.
  • Identify seasonal trends as appropriate for the brand including key fashion profiles, colours, fabrications and 'must haves' for the season.
  • Creative inspiration - compile strong reference material, including researching and compiling mood boards and colour palettes/analysis
  • Implementation of the Critical Path for product areas, ensuring effective communication with Suppliers and relevant team members
  • Responsible for meeting critical path deadlines and highlighting issues and providing solutions
  • Ad hoc travel may be required to conduct product development, inspirational trips and Trade shows


Person Specification:

  • 1-2 years of previous experience designing fashion product categories.
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent within fashion, textile or print surface design.
  • Entrepreneurial, creative and technical ability to design multi-product collection.
  • Experience in development across multi-regional supply base.
  • Collaborative approach to range development.
  • Ability to use CAD as well as freehand Sketching and designing.
