Job Description
We have partnered with a multinational apparel buying hub and exporter who are seeking a strong COO to join the team based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. You will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their global apparel sourcing business.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale operations, particularly in the apparel and fashion industry, and will drive operational excellence across all departments.
You must be a British Citizen to be considered for this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all departments including sourcing, production, logistics, and quality control.
Work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company's long-term goals.
Optimise the supply chain process, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality standards. Develop strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to maintain a robust and reliable supply chain.
Lead, mentor, and develop the operational team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Ensure that the company attracts and retains top talent.
Ensure all operations comply with local and international laws and regulations, including labour laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards. Identify and mitigate risks to the business.
Drive innovation in operational processes through the adoption of new technologies and practices that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
Person specification:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior operational role, with at least 3 years in an executive position in the apparel industry.
Strong understanding of global sourcing, supply chain management, and production processes.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and P&L.
Willingness to reside in Dhaka, Bangladesh (300 days minimum in a year).
