An amazing opportunity for a Garment Technologist with a leading Womenswear retailer. The ideal candidate will have experience as a multi-category Womenswear Garment Technologist, ideally working within a high street supplier or in-house for a brand. Main responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for all aspects of garment quality assurance and fit.
- Attend fit meetings with buyers, designers, and pattern cutters.
- Measuring, documenting, and assessing samples from first fit to production.
- Checking construction and quality of garments, advising on options and solutions for quality assurance
- Keeping production critical path up to date, ensuring samples are fitted, comments sent out timely.
- Writing notes, preparing comments, grading specs and updating workbooks
- Manage and support testing/safety standards ensuring all products meet min requirements.
- Arranging for product testing
- Interpreting test reports and issuing wash care information.
- Discussing with QC / team members / suppliers to see how best to resolve any quality issues.
Person Specification:
- 5 years' recent experience as a womenswear Garment Technologist ideally within a high street brand.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fit, quality assurance, wash/care instructions and an understanding of patterns.
- Experience in multi womenswear product (Knit, Jersey and Woven), in casual, outerwear, and soft tailoring.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal and written) and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Packages particular Excel
- Knowledge in test reports, what tests are required for which product.
