Job Description

We are working with a leading company, known for innovative designs. To support their growth, they are seeking a Fabric Sourcing Manager based in China, with a strong design background to help shape and drive their fabric sourcing strategy.

As the Fabric Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing fabric suppliers. You will work closely with the design, production, and supply chain teams to source innovative and fabrics that meet their clients aesthetic goals. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of fabric properties, and the ability to translate creative vision into practical sourcing strategies.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and build relationships with reliable fabric suppliers and mills.
  • Analyse fabric trends, innovations, and forecasts to ensure that the company remains competitive in the market.
  • Introduce new materials and finishes that align with emerging design and sustainability trends.
  • Ensure all fabrics meet the company's quality standards and sustainability objectives.
  • Stay up to date with new fabric technologies, trends, and innovations in the market.
  • Work closely with the design team to understand their vision and translate it into feasible fabric options.
  • Provide fabric recommendations that align with the brand's design aesthetics, performance requirements, and budget.

Person Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design role with a focus on fabric sourcing.
  • Design background is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of fabric types, construction, and properties.
  • In-depth knowledge of fabric mills, suppliers, and industry standards.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven experience in managing supplier relationships.
  • Ability to assess fabric quality and aesthetic to align with design vision.
