Job Description
We are looking for a well versed and experienced Womenswear Jersey Designer for a highly successful fashion manufacturer.
Based in Central London, you will be creative and create exciting, fashion-forward womenswear jersey multiproduct product for a number of well know retailers in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a team player, who works collaboratively with other Designers and Account Managers.
Main Specifications:
- Researching, developing, and designing across womenswear jersey product, including identifying key shapes for the season and selecting fabrics.
- Presenting trend research to Buyers.
- Sourcing new fabrications, techniques and trimmings.
- Travelling to customer appointments within UK and abroad when required to develop ranges and products.
- Working with the Technical team on fits on a weekly basis, identifying and helping create new silhouette blocks for the department.
- Communicating effectively with all internal and external teams.
- Building relationships with factories, advising on direction, silhouette, construction, key details, fabrics, trimmings and artworks.
Person Specifications:
- Experience as a womenswear designer across jersey product.
- Sound knowledge of jersey fabrications.
- Strong design skills using Illustrator and CAD.
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with team members.
- Team player and understanding of deadlines and critical paths.
