Job Description
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for my client a well-respected supplier of ladies and childrenswear who are growing their team and are seeking a jersey designer with experience working with Primark . A strong working knowledge of dealing with Indian based production is also essential for this role.
Working alongside the Sales and Design Director meeting with buyers ,this role will also involve some overseas visits to their factory base in India. This role offers a unique opportunity for career growth and development to be part of an exciting sourcing and design office This is a Central London Based role with 1 day from home if required
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Assisting on the design of womenswear and or childrenswear fashion ranges to present to Primark
- To produce detailed technical packs for accurate first-time samples.
- Carry out trend research and analysis alongside colour trends.
- Identify and understand clients brand identity and handwriting when designing and range building.
- Create beautiful designs, mood boards, colour palettes and trend boards.
- Sourcing of fabric and trims.
Person Requirements:
- Be able to do Trend and Mood boards, CAD's, Mock-ups, and detailed Tech-packs.
- Communicate directly with merchandisers and sampling units at their factories in India briefing and following up collection samples
- Must have previous design experience working with Primark across Jersey
- Must have experience dealing with factories in India
- Communicate with and present to customers as and when needed.
- Do regular comp and inspirational shopping.
- Knowledge of licencing is beneficial not essential
- Have knowledge of fabrics. Knowledge of mills and fabric sourcing ability is a plus
- Have experience in a fast-paced environment.
